Surprises are such a wonderful thing, especially when you are the one on the receiving end.  Then again, I guess it really depends on the nature of the surprise.  That said, my “last night out” was a blast!  I figured the title would catch most people by surprise… ‘The Ride of a Lifetime’!  And no, we’re not talking about sex!  However, I am referring to a helicopter tour that my friends took me on as a gift.  I’ll never forget this weekend or the ride for as long as I live!  It doesn’t seem like we’ve known each other long, yet we’ve spent almost half of our lives together as partners in crime! :)

My bachelor weekend will be one to remember.  Check out some of the pictures and scenes from San Antonio, Texas! Click and view at your own risk!!!

Well, it’s been a while since we’ve made a post.  A lot has happened, and it’s all been centered around ‘wedding’ events.  Since the last post, Engagement Pictures, A Few Are Posted, we’ve celebrated Mal’s birthday, gone to Conroe a few times and started planning for the countdown to our big day: May 29th (67 days as of this post).

As for the our wedding, Mal has been working her little rear end off to make sure everything has been accounted for… every ‘i’ dotted and every ‘t’ crossed!  Thanks, babe! :) From meeting florists to photographers to caterers to ceremony/reception venues to cake/catering tastings to invitations to wedding party attire to save-the-dates to showers to hotel lodging, she’s been a very busy gal.  But she’s managed to get it all finalized without stressing too much to say the least. lol :)  Weddings are never stressful, yeah right!?!?!

Our most recent trip has actually afforded us an opportunity to have a wedding dry-run and a mini-vacation in Chicago, Illinois.  A childhood friend of mine, Jeremy Norman, and his fiance/now wife, Raechelle Delarmente-Norman, were married on this past weekend in Chicago’s renowned Old St. Patrick’s Church.  In addition to other friends who joined us to celebrate the Norman’s big day, we all had a blast and wish the Norman’s much success and best wishes in their marriage.  Too, we thank them for helping us get acclimated to the Chicago way of life for our short stay.  From sunshine to rain to snow, we had it all this trip… yes, it snowed the day after a 70-degree day… and I thought Texas weather was all over the place. LOL :)

We beat the Rooster up and was almost to Chicago by time he figured out we had beat him.  We left Austin’s lukewarm weather and went straight into the abyss of Chicago Cold! Brrr…  We met a friend of mine, Jeremy “JNorm” Norman, for a quick breakfast stop before heading to Pittsburgh.

Well, we arrived in Pittsburgh… and Dorothy, Read more »

First of all, Happy Mother’s Day to everyone, rather all the mothers.  Our weekend was spent all across Texas.  Mal went to see her mother as well as give a shower for a close friend in the Houston/Conroe area.  I was going to stay behind and work on a web project, but God had other plans for me.  I ended up taking a day trip to Keller, Texas and spending time with family.  I got back pretty late Saturday night but the trip was worth it, seeing family, especially my mom.  :)

As for the house… It’s been quite a while since Mal and I last touched the house.  Matter of fact, I don’t even remember what exactly I last did besides getting Bekah’s room ready…  but two months went mighty quick.  Now that the weather is starting to heat up a bit, I can hopefully get into the groove of things once more.  We have a long list of items remaining until we complete the first floor, but we’re getting there little by little.  Even the outside of our home is coming together.  The lawn is losing weeds and grass is getting thick.  Our roses are budding like crazy.  I’ve cut the trees back.  We will probably plant flowers within the next few months — ones that can withstand the scorching Texas heat!  :)

This past Sunday, as a surprise for Mal, I Read more »
