Well, we’ve started our traveling back again!  No more free weekends until after the wedding…  We had received word that my sister’s oldest son, our nephew, would be having his birthday party over the weekend.  We hadn’t really planned on attending but at the last minute decided to go and spend quality family time with them (too, Fort Worth is approx 1.5 hours from Sherman… so we decided to sneak in and surprise my parents since we hadn’t seen them since Christmas! :) ).  So on the road again through crazy RAIN and avoiding crazy drivers!  We saw many accidents coming and going, and most probably could have been prevented by doing one thing: slowing down on wet roads!  Nevertheless, via God’s traveling grace, we made it safe and sound to Deuce’s 5th Birthday Party held at the Main Event in Fort Worth, Texas.  It was great to surprise him on his special day as well as getting to see my sis, brother-in-law, niece, and other nephew.  We all had a blast… take a quick peek at pics: Deuce’s 5th Birthday Party.

We beat the Rooster up and was almost to Chicago by time he figured out we had beat him.  We left Austin’s lukewarm weather and went straight into the abyss of Chicago Cold! Brrr…  We met a friend of mine, Jeremy “JNorm” Norman, for a quick breakfast stop before heading to Pittsburgh.

Well, we arrived in Pittsburgh… and Dorothy, Read more »

First of all, Happy Mother’s Day to everyone, rather all the mothers.  Our weekend was spent all across Texas.  Mal went to see her mother as well as give a shower for a close friend in the Houston/Conroe area.  I was going to stay behind and work on a web project, but God had other plans for me.  I ended up taking a day trip to Keller, Texas and spending time with family.  I got back pretty late Saturday night but the trip was worth it, seeing family, especially my mom.  :)

As for the house… It’s been quite a while since Mal and I last touched the house.  Matter of fact, I don’t even remember what exactly I last did besides getting Bekah’s room ready…  but two months went mighty quick.  Now that the weather is starting to heat up a bit, I can hopefully get into the groove of things once more.  We have a long list of items remaining until we complete the first floor, but we’re getting there little by little.  Even the outside of our home is coming together.  The lawn is losing weeds and grass is getting thick.  Our roses are budding like crazy.  I’ve cut the trees back.  We will probably plant flowers within the next few months — ones that can withstand the scorching Texas heat!  :)

This past Sunday, as a surprise for Mal, I Read more »

To remind oneself of something temporarily forgotten… our home and the journey we started just a short time ago.  This is the first full Saturday away from the house in a while.  I must admit that our Christmas holiday was a much needed break from the trips to Lowes, Home Depot, and our local Hardware Store.  More importantly, we needed this break to spend time Read more »
