Well, we’ve started our traveling back again!  No more free weekends until after the wedding…  We had received word that my sister’s oldest son, our nephew, would be having his birthday party over the weekend.  We hadn’t really planned on attending but at the last minute decided to go and spend quality family time with them (too, Fort Worth is approx 1.5 hours from Sherman… so we decided to sneak in and surprise my parents since we hadn’t seen them since Christmas! :) ).  So on the road again through crazy RAIN and avoiding crazy drivers!  We saw many accidents coming and going, and most probably could have been prevented by doing one thing: slowing down on wet roads!  Nevertheless, via God’s traveling grace, we made it safe and sound to Deuce’s 5th Birthday Party held at the Main Event in Fort Worth, Texas.  It was great to surprise him on his special day as well as getting to see my sis, brother-in-law, niece, and other nephew.  We all had a blast… take a quick peek at pics: Deuce’s 5th Birthday Party.

Well, it’s been a while since we’ve made a post.  A lot has happened, and it’s all been centered around ‘wedding’ events.  Since the last post, Engagement Pictures, A Few Are Posted, we’ve celebrated Mal’s birthday, gone to Conroe a few times and started planning for the countdown to our big day: May 29th (67 days as of this post).

As for the our wedding, Mal has been working her little rear end off to make sure everything has been accounted for… every ‘i’ dotted and every ‘t’ crossed!  Thanks, babe! :) From meeting florists to photographers to caterers to ceremony/reception venues to cake/catering tastings to invitations to wedding party attire to save-the-dates to showers to hotel lodging, she’s been a very busy gal.  But she’s managed to get it all finalized without stressing too much to say the least. lol :)  Weddings are never stressful, yeah right!?!?!

Our most recent trip has actually afforded us an opportunity to have a wedding dry-run and a mini-vacation in Chicago, Illinois.  A childhood friend of mine, Jeremy Norman, and his fiance/now wife, Raechelle Delarmente-Norman, were married on this past weekend in Chicago’s renowned Old St. Patrick’s Church.  In addition to other friends who joined us to celebrate the Norman’s big day, we all had a blast and wish the Norman’s much success and best wishes in their marriage.  Too, we thank them for helping us get acclimated to the Chicago way of life for our short stay.  From sunshine to rain to snow, we had it all this trip… yes, it snowed the day after a 70-degree day… and I thought Texas weather was all over the place. LOL :)

But despite the weather and in addition to the wedding, we had a chance to visit the following Chicago attractions: Read more »

Sunday rolled around, I did some more coding and made an impromptu trip to Lowe’s only to find out that our cabinets had been put on clearance.  Yes, CLEARANCE, and those cabinets will be discontinued once all stores sell out!  So if you have a kitchen project and were looking to head off to Lowe’s for cabinets, you better there and get there soon.  They will carry a new line of cabinets moving forward.

Okay, you know as soon as I found out, I went a found a flat bed cart, and begin loading up for the rest of the kitchen!  My cart looked much like the Beverly Hillbillies truck!  LOL :) Feeling good about the money we saved on picking up cabinets for a steal, I even picked up Read more »

This past weekend was one for the record books in regards to Love, Rest, and Life.

Friday, we had dinner with Chad, Kel, and Maddie.  Maddie is growing so much.  She’s now sitting up on her own and holding her bottle.  In a lil’ bit, she’ll be talking up a storm and takin’ her first steps.  Time flies… when we’re having fun with Maddie! :)   Talking about time well spent…

Saturday, Mal and I had a very special Valentine’s weekend and she surprised me with Read more »
