To kick off the second half of the year, God has blessed us with an opportunity to launch an online women’s boutique. From juggling weddings and other functions to managing our own wedding, we kept busy the first half of the year and now we’re just as busy going into the second half of the year keeping inventory, releasing new products, and making new relationships throughout various US cities in regards to trendy, budget-friendly women’s apparel.
The Unique Closet really came about over the course of the last 9-10 months of travel. Everywhere city we visited someone would question Mallary about certain boutique outfits. Most wanted to know where they could purchase or possibly even peruse such a unique collection of apparel. So the more and more people questioned, the more the two of us put two and two together to strike out down the path of partnering to operate an online women’s boutique clothing business. We figured we’ve already committed ourselves to friendship and marriage, so why not a business too!
So over the course of May and June, we Read more »
Yet another weekend adventure for the newlyweds and our expecting friends, Brian & Cara! :) We had beautiful weather here in Austin this past Saturday. It was so beautiful that we decided to take advantage of getting a little sun (as if I need to be more darker). Joined by our friends Brian and Cara, we made a trek over to take in the magnificent views of Hamilton Pool Nature Preserve. For those who don’t know, Hamilton Pool Nature Preserve is is a historic swimming hole with a 50 foot waterfall located about 30 miles southwest of Austin. And once again, my wife set the expectation of paradise without telling me we had to walk treacherously down what seemed to be an endless trail. Yes, it was worth it, but man on the way back I thought I saw the death angel at my right — walk back was brutal up the hills and totally beat down from the sun.
All in all, it was a great time and we had a great time… heck, I even got a nap in until I was kicked in the ribs by a stumbling toddler. The poor lil guy must have lost his footing and thought I was a speed bump! LOL…
The pic below is Brian, Cara, and Mal in the center of the red circle — this pic was taken after I got kicked in the ribs while sleeping.
Surprises are such a wonderful thing, especially when you are the one on the receiving end. Then again, I guess it really depends on the nature of the surprise. That said, my “last night out” was a blast! I figured the title would catch most people by surprise… ‘The Ride of a Lifetime’! And no, we’re not talking about sex! However, I am referring to a helicopter tour that my friends took me on as a gift. I’ll never forget this weekend or the ride for as long as I live! It doesn’t seem like we’ve known each other long, yet we’ve spent almost half of our lives together as partners in crime!
My bachelor weekend will be one to remember. Check out some of the pictures and scenes from San Antonio, Texas! Click and view at your own risk!!!
Simply put, we’ve seen and participated in quite a few good discussions on Facebook in regards to needing daily encouragement, support, prayer and just overall guidance in life. Sometimes life can throw many curve balls at one, leaving one to feel like they’re manning the ship by one’s self. So, we’ve started DailyOverflow.com… join the engaging conversation and get your day off to a great start! :)
Well, we’ve started our traveling back again! No more free weekends until after the wedding… We had received word that my sister’s oldest son, our nephew, would be having his birthday party over the weekend. We hadn’t really planned on attending but at the last minute decided to go and spend quality family time with them (too, Fort Worth is approx 1.5 hours from Sherman… so we decided to sneak in and surprise my parents since we hadn’t seen them since Christmas! ). So on the road again through crazy RAIN and avoiding crazy drivers! We saw many accidents coming and going, and most probably could have been prevented by doing one thing: slowing down on wet roads! Nevertheless, via God’s traveling grace, we made it safe and sound to Deuce’s 5th Birthday Party held at the Main Event in Fort Worth, Texas. It was great to surprise him on his special day as well as getting to see my sis, brother-in-law, niece, and other nephew. We all had a blast… take a quick peek at pics: Deuce’s 5th Birthday Party.
