Last night for a few minutes we got to experience one of my favorite things…. sitting at our table, in our house, eating a home cooked meal, and visiting.  This may seem rather cheesy, but it truly is my favorite time of the day.  Not to mention the fact that we have not be able to do that in at least 2 months!!!  We’ve definitely learned that eating out gets old really fast, not to mention it’s pretty hard to eat healthy.  Read more »

Sunday rolled around, I did some more coding and made an impromptu trip to Lowe’s only to find out that our cabinets had been put on clearance.  Yes, CLEARANCE, and those cabinets will be discontinued once all stores sell out!  So if you have a kitchen project and were looking to head off to Lowe’s for cabinets, you better there and get there soon.  They will carry a new line of cabinets moving forward.

Okay, you know as soon as I found out, I went a found a flat bed cart, and begin loading up for the rest of the kitchen!  My cart looked much like the Beverly Hillbillies truck!  LOL :) Feeling good about the money we saved on picking up cabinets for a steal, I even picked up Read more »

This week and weekend went by so fast, but it was definitely one that was very productive.

Thursday, I FINALLY got a haircut.  Yes, I know it was long overdue but I’ve been toying with growing my hair out.  And no, I’m not looking to grow a fro, get dreads, or any other ‘heathen’ like hairstyle.  I just wanted a change.  By time the Texas heat hits me, I’ll probably be to the ole’ school boy cut – tight fade all around and down to the waves!  HA!  Too, I attended a great game and watched two of my players play to their potential at their private school in Austin.  Great game, Jamall and Birdie!!!!  I enjoyed it, and showing off my new look! LOL!

Friday, Mal went out of town to see one of our good friends who is 3 months pregnant.  I actually spent Friday evening coding and working away until the wee hours of the morning.

Saturday came, and it was time to go and coach my kids to their first victory of the season.  I know, I know… Most of you are questioning the talent on the team or the coaching…  And I know most of your wouldn’t question the latter!  LOL!  The talent on the team is there; however, I’m coaching 9-10 year olds in a 12-13 year old league.  Yes, we have our kids playing up a few years to get them better acclimated to top notch talent.  Nevertheless, our kids won their first game and you would have thought they won the LOTTERY!  Great game, guys, and keep up the good work!  See ya next week.

After a great game, I spent the next 4 hours in a meeting that will probably change our lives going forward for the good.  I can’t really speak of any specifics, but know something good is on the horizon for both Mal and I, and we’ll definitely let you in on it once it is official.  HA, I love keeping you all in suspense… Can you guess?

Oh well, that’s about it… a first win, new look and a new future on the horizon. Talk later!

Okay, so the title is really nothing new under the son.  There is not too much that can really throw me off my game, but Mal sent me a headline today that just made me completely stop working.  I mean, I lost all thoughts and regard for the job / project I was working on.  I sat in awe as I read the headline and viewed the story.

I couldn’t imagine what Alvin, and in my case today, Charlie, might have done to my backside or better yet, shortened my lease on life and extended the long sleep policy six feet under had Read more »

This past weekend was one for the record books in regards to Love, Rest, and Life.

Friday, we had dinner with Chad, Kel, and Maddie.  Maddie is growing so much.  She’s now sitting up on her own and holding her bottle.  In a lil’ bit, she’ll be talking up a storm and takin’ her first steps.  Time flies… when we’re having fun with Maddie! :)   Talking about time well spent…

Saturday, Mal and I had a very special Valentine’s weekend and she surprised me with Read more »
