Talkin’ about lessons learned when we recently went to pick up one of Mal’s late Christmas gifts: NordicTrack Elliptical, ASR 700. We had looked at Ellipticals during the holiday season and she had spotted one she really did like. So me being the comparison shopper I am, scoured the Internet to find the best price. Nevertheless, we ended up at the place we started: Sears.
I should have known when we picked up the Elliptical and took the Sears loader and I a good heave to get it into the back of the pickup… I was going to be in trouble when it came time to unload once we arrived at the house. But Mal and I did get it unloaded and upstairs to the ‘guest bedroom/workout room’. Now, this is when i thought the hard work was done. YEAH RIGHT?!?!?!
As we begin to put the pieces together, I spent nearly 30 minutes getting 3 screws in due to using the hex key provided for installation. The hex key didn’t quite fit into the tiny space well for installation. And then the lightbulb goes off… only after 30 min… why not go and look to see if you have a hex bit set and use your power drill/driver to screw in screws. DUH!!!! :) Unfortunately, I didn’t have a full hex bit set, only a star bit set; however, fortunately, I did have 2 out of the 3 hex bits I need. Whew… we’re home free… NOT!
And 1 hour later, I was still trying to get the base screws in. i got all but one in and the last one I had to walk away from. But needless to say, Mal now has her workout room and elliptical. The NordicTrack Elliptical, ASR 700 does have some pretty neat features:

Nice to know we have friends that at least know how to put one together so when we buy ours we can call yelling “HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
