    Happy 4th!

Yes, we are finally getting back in the groove of working on the house.  There are so many things to do, yet not enough time to do them all.  Yesterday, I mowed the lawn while Mal cleaned the house.  Little did I know that was just the beginning for me.  I then started breaking down boxes for the recycle bin, which lead to cleaning the entire garage.  I found tools that I didn’t even know I had!  LOL…  But the good thing is we now are organized and ready for more work moving forward.

After the garage was cleaned, I started working on Read more »

Hey there readers…  We’re back from another fun-filled weekend of babysitting, coaching basketball, programming, and house remodeling.

Whew… the weekend went by so fast.   And this weekend, “The Bug” came back and in full force!  I started off Saturday thinking I wouldn’t really get much done just do to having to coach two basketball games at 2pm and 4pm.  But off to the races I went installing the remaining baseboards in the living room and in the short hall area from the entrance into the garage.  That went smoother than double-whipped Mayo!  LOL!  I’ll have to get pics and post those soon.

So, then I was forced to make a decision to either start our Master Closet storage or push it to another weekend.  And the verdict is???????   Read more »

As you can tell by the title, the only thing I did was baseboards and switches this past weekend.  And  & to admire my own work, I didn’t do a bad job either!  HA!  So what happened this weekend…

For one, it is now officially Black History Month and Two, we had the most beautiful weather Saturday and Sunday.

In regards to the house remodel, I installed the final pieces of door casing leading from our bedroom into our Master Bath.  I then completed installing baseboards in the dining, partial living room, and washroom.  I also started to install the bi-fold doors for the washroom but lost interest quickly after being persuaded to lunch.  LOL!  In addition, I installed new light switches in the half bath and master bedroom.

All in all, I guess seeing we get warm weather throughout the week or next weekend, I just may take a crack at the closet storage.  If not, It’ll slide to another weekend.  :)

And after all that hard work, I called it a weekend. :)  I didn’t even work Sunday although I was up early to watch the sun rise!  That was pretty amazing in itself, seeing that the office has a great easternly view.  Actually, I did work, but it was “programming” for clients… but then again, that really isn’t work at all seeing I love the challenge of making it all come together.  We also attended a Super Bowl Party with some friends, but left right before halftime.  So we had a rather “relaxing and maxing” Sunday.

But oh well… off to start a new week!

Well, we’re back for another fun filled weekend of house work.  Nothing big happening… really.  Lets see…

It’s Super Bowl weekend which we’ll be attending a party with friends here in Austin.  But next year, we’ll probably be throwing one, seeing we got a surprise house warming gift from our friends, Brian and Cara: they bought us a Read more »

    Hey there,

Just wanted to share a quick note about installing door casing, baseboards, and a couple of outlets/switches.

Yesterday, Mal and I had a wonderful dinner at the Bear Rock Cafe here in Austin.  I think we were both in the mood for salads and little did we know, a great bowl of Chicken Enchilada soup!  And after a great dinner and conversing, we came home and Read more »
