Okay, I’ve been MIA on remodeling the house that last few weekends, or at least getting big projects started/completed. And with the economy only going down more, we’ve been reluctant to starting/finishing major projects like wood floors, kitchen appliances, sprinkler system, ordering furniture and the other half of the kitchen. As you can tell by the title, the only thing I did was baseboards and switches this past weekend. And & to admire my own work, I didn’t do a bad job either! HA! So what happened this weekend…
For one, it is now officially Black History Month and Two, we had the most beautiful weather Saturday and Sunday.
In regards to the house remodel, I installed the final pieces of door casing leading from our bedroom into our Master Bath. I then completed installing baseboards in the dining, partial living room, and washroom. I also started to install the bi-fold doors for the washroom but lost interest quickly after being persuaded to lunch. LOL! In addition, I installed new light switches in the half bath and master bedroom.
All in all, I guess seeing we get warm weather throughout the week or next weekend, I just may take a crack at the closet storage. If not, It’ll slide to another weekend. :)
And after all that hard work, I called it a weekend. 
I didn’t even work Sunday although I was up early to watch the sun rise! That was pretty amazing in itself, seeing that the office has a great easternly view. Actually, I did work, but it was “programming” for clients… but then again, that really isn’t work at all seeing I love the challenge of making it all come together. We also attended a Super Bowl Party with some friends, but left right before halftime. So we had a rather “relaxing and maxing” Sunday.
But oh well… off to start a new week!

Well, its been quite a productive week for Mal and I, yet it is only Wednesday! <Sigh> And what a cold, icey Wednesday morning we woke up to here in Austin. Oh well, Friday is almost here and we’ll be back on the grind of doing some small projects this weekend.

Hey there! Here is question for each of you: Has the house changed, and if so, what has been the biggest surprise about the remodel so far? And if any of you say me doing the work, then I’m turning everyone into the IRS! Just kidding… but I thought I might get a rise from a few of you by making such a comment and seeing tax time is here again!!! :)
The last few days have been a blur for us! Mal is back and our house is back to being consistent. Brice and Butter were soooooo glad to see Mal and I definitely was glad to see her too! And this morning, the landscaping guys came back to start on the backyard or at least give us a quote for the backyard landscaping. I told them I wanted to shift gears and get a quote for the front yard sprinkler since the dogs area has not been built in the backyard and they would end up destroying all of their good work.
But there was some else I wanted to tell you all… Lets see… what was this post suppose to be about?????? Hmmmm…. having trouble here… Oh yes, that’s what it was about:
For the past 3 months, we’ve been working quite hard to make the house a home. So far, we’ve accomplished a lot for only working Saturdays and Sundays. We’ve had some “lessons learned”, some slight deviations from the original plan, and some long days of thinking: what have we done and got ourselves into? But all in all there is nothing like the feeling of accomplishment we’ve experienced with each completed task especially when looking at our pics from last year.
