    Happy 4th!

Yes, we are finally getting back in the groove of working on the house.  There are so many things to do, yet not enough time to do them all.  Yesterday, I mowed the lawn while Mal cleaned the house.  Little did I know that was just the beginning for me.  I then started breaking down boxes for the recycle bin, which lead to cleaning the entire garage.  I found tools that I didn’t even know I had!  LOL…  But the good thing is we now are organized and ready for more work moving forward.

After the garage was cleaned, I started working on Read more »

Our weekend got off to a great, warm start as we tackled cleaning the garage, stripping it from it’s past of storage for carpet, cabinets, toilets, tub, blinds, doors, vanities, mirrors… in short, the old 12301 Garage! Do you remember what it looked like? Take a look…

Brian, Mallary and I worked quite quickly and had the garage cleaned within an hour or so from the time we started…  And we used every inch of the dumspter too!  So a clean garage now minus a few old appliances, a and cabinet bottom, looking great! No more junk, we now have a clean garage ready for a new start!

    Finally, a place to park… :)

Well, the time has come… the last full weekend of work before move-in and Christmas.

Our trash dumpster arrived around 11am today, so the dumpster party is on for tomorrow morning.  I may go tonight and get started, but then again… I can wait until help shows up tomorrow.  :)

But to the point of this post, here is the quick and dirty of what needs to be accomplished this weekend:

    • Removal of all trim upstairs
    • Removal of trash in garage
    • Tile and grout installation in living room, dining, and entrance.
    • Install mortar shower base, shower pan, backerboard, and backerboard taping.
    • Might event get to start on tiling the shower too.  :)

    Possible Mini-Projects

    • His / Her Master Closet buildouts
    • Half / Master Bath Toliets
    • Install baseboards
    • Half-Bath / Master Bedroom Doors

We’re almost there!  YAY!  Again, it has been a great experience with much twisting and turning, here and there.  We’re both pleased with progress although we wish that the process would move much quicker and the project and mini-projects would be over a little sooner.  :)

We’ll post pictures of this weekend.  Can’t wait!!!

Whew, we finally found a dumpster!

Any takers for coming to help us clean out the garage?  <BIG SMILE>  The dumpster will arrive on Friday at our house.  We can finally have a clean garage before Dec. 31st move-in!  WOOOOOHHHHHOOOOO!

It is really not that much “junk”.  But then again, lets see… there are the kitchen cabinets (which I’m going to break those down), bathroom vanities, toilets, carpets, moulding/trim, bathtub and that’s it… maybe a few doors.  If you could help, it would definitely be much appreciated.
